The K-12 page on a phone lying in sunlight: 'Connectivity that keeps up with your students'

Approach

EM3 Networks provides internet to K-12 schools, public libraries and rural clinics funded through the federal E-Rate programme. The people who buy from EM3 aren't network engineers: they run schools and clinics, and the internet comes on top of everything else. The brand had one test: if a school administrator feels even slightly intimidated, it has failed.

I designed the logo and set the look: soft greys instead of stark white, flat cards with gentle corners, one friendly typeface in sentence case, and a single deep blue kept for the moments that matter.

'Secure, connected networks built to support safe learning environments', with the services list, on a phone'We don't just deliver internet, we manage everything around it', with 'Compliant by design', on a phoneThe satisfaction rate and NPS, then the closing call to action, on a phone
The Why EM3 page on a tablet standing on a shelf: 'You get a team, not a ticket queue.'
The USAC & E-Rate page on a phone, close up: 'Federal funding is worth the effort. We carry the hard part.'

Outcome

EM3 has a logo, a brand and brand guidelines that make a technical service feel approachable. The photography shows who the network is for: children with their hands up in class, readers in the library, clinicians at work.

I designed and built the 17-page website: a page for each service, pages for K-12 schools and rural healthcare, and one on USAC and E-Rate. I helped write the words, calm and plain, for the person reading rather than the engineer behind the network. A matching proposal template takes the same look into every bid EM3 sends.
