The SMCG Wealth home page on a phone held in someone's lap: 'Financial Planning with integrity and purpose'

Approach

SMCG Wealth is an independent financial planning firm in the UK, running since 2009. Its typical client has spent a working life building something up and wants to know it will carry them through retirement, and looks for experience, steadiness and plain explanations in an adviser.

I designed and built the website around that client. Sunlit photography of couples sailing, walking and travelling shows the life the planning is for, and a classic serif for the headlines sits beside a clean sans for everything you need to read.

The fees page, 'Our transparent fee structure', on a laptop on a desk by a window
'Approaching retirement: Retirement planning for your lifestyle', over a couple out walking, on a phone'Wealth management built on two decades of experience and unwavering principles', with the adviser's portrait, on a phone'Keep costs low', a Contact us button and a photo of an older couple arm in arm in a lit street, on a phone
Two phones on grey stone: the fees page, 'Our transparent fee structure', and the home page's 'Intelligent and impartial financial planning for your stage of life' with a photo of a father and son
The contact page on a phone held in warm light: 'Book a free consultation with us'

Outcome

The site has plenty of white space, one clear blue for every next step, and a charcoal band where the logo's arches return behind the consultation form.

The home page answers a careful client's questions in turn: why take advice at all, is this for someone at my stage of life, who is behind it, and what happens next. The main call to action throughout is a free 30-minute consultation.

The home page's 'Four steps to your financial plan' on a laptop on a white desk, beside a photo of a couple walking down an old-town street
The fees page on a tablet held in two hands: 'Our transparent fee structure'
The contact page on a laptop: 'Book a free consultation with us', with the consultation form
